Caleb - taken just before deployment March 06, 2006.
Sgt. Caleb Oberg joined the Minnesota Army National Guard in 2002. He is part of the 85 member 2-211th Aviation Unit based at St. Paul's Holman Field. He was deployed in March of 2006 and is currently serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom as a Chinook Helicopter Crew Chief at an Airbase near Baghdad attached to the 2-135th Aviation Regiment "Bootleggers", 36th CAB (Combat Aviation Battalion). You can read an article about their work here:
This well trained but little known group of Minnesota Guard Aviation members of the 2-211th is part of the 2700 members from 44 states that make up the 36th CAB. Caleb also serves as unofficial "historian" and photographer for B Co. "Bootleggers". A short video he helped produce showing the work of the 2-135th is posted here.
Caleb & Gov. Pawlenty - "buds"
Minnesota and FootHuggers.com salutes the members of the 2-211th and their families as they carry out their mission with hardly a mention in the media. Let's remember these "other" Minnesota Guard members serving in Iraq and keep them in our thoughts and prayers until they all return safely this fall.
Thanks.
